Temalpakh Farm in Coachella belongs to the Augustine Band of Cahuilla Indians, one of the country’s smallest Native American tribes. The tribe started clearing the land to prepare the soil for farming in 2012, before planting in 2014, and now the farm produces a variety of organic fruits and vegetables, has opened a farm store and has an education center, with plans to expand farming operations.
