Lemon butter green beans with garlic and Parmesan

Lemon juice and zest add a punch of bright, tangy flavor to green beans.
Ingredients
1 lb. green beans, cleaned and trimmed
2 tbsp. butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. lemon zest
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Blanch green beans and set aside. Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute or until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Add green beans and sauté until heated through. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese and lemon zest. Season with salt and pepper (and if you want even more flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes). Serve immediately.
Serves 4.
