Blueberry mojito
Chef Jeff Rossman, San Diego
Mojitos are classic Cuban drinks, traditionally made with rum. Here, Chef Jeff Rossman offers his own interpretation.
Ingredients
1 lime, cut into quarters
15 fresh blueberries
Ice
1 1/4 oz. blueberry vodka
1 tbsp. simple syrup (recipe follows)
Splash soda water
Directions
Muddle half of the lime and 10 blueberries together in a rocks glass. Add ice, vodka and simple syrup, then soda water. Garnish with remaining blueberries and a lime wedge.
To make simple syrup: Heat equal parts sugar and water to dissolve the sugar. Anything can be added to change the flavor profile (lemongrass, ginger, lime or orange zest, cinnamon, cloves, rosemary, basil, etc.).
