Fancy Food Show
San Francisco event highlights what's new and what's hot in the culinary world.
We all know San Francisco is a mecca for great food, so it only makes sense that the "City by the Bay" plays host to one of the largest food shows in the world—the 35th annual International Fancy Food Show. The three-day smorgasbord is a feast not only for the eyes, but the stomach as well, as company after company vies for a spot on a supermarket shelf near you.
The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade sponsors the show that annually attracts more than 20,000 people from the supermarket, gourmet and retail worlds—all searching for the latest trends and newest products.
Most of the exhibitors here are small, privately owned companies that are seeking an opportunity to put their products on the map in the culinary world. The show is actually the largest marketplace for specialty food and beverages on the West Coast. More than 80,000 products are on display here. And over the years, the show has helped launch such brands as Vitamin Water, Terra Chips and Ben & Jerry's.
From exotic spices to flavored nuts to wine-infused sorbet, there was definitely something for everyone!
