Local Farm Bureaus help FFA members earn signature jackets
Jorge Rivera received a signature FFA jacket through the Blue Jacket Bonanza Program, started in 2010 by the Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau.
In many schools across the country, FFA students are easily recognized by their signature gold-and-blue jackets. However, not every student can afford one. To this end, the Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau created the Blue Jacket Bonanza Program—now a national program—to give students an opportunity to earn an official FFA jacket.
Students are awarded jackets based on financial need, community service, leadership and a commitment to agriculture.

Executive Director Teri Bontrager, left, and President Kevin Merrill say they are proud of Rivera's accomplishments.
